It is 9:50pm on November 1st, which technically means that there is still enough time for me to tell you that I am planning to participate in Nablopomo.
What is Nablopomo? Well, as French as it sounds, it’s really just short for National Blog Posting Month. It is a challenge for bloggers to post every day for the month of November.
Why would I do this to myself when I can’t even get the laundry done? Because clean clothes are overrated and I think I need a swift kick in the old-age-blogger-pants. This will force me to come back to this place I love.
See, I have been blogging since June, 2007. That’s an eternity on the internet. Shoot, that’s an eternity, period. Four years ago, my daughter was eight. EIGHT! Sigh…
So if you want to stop by, I will be here. I am not promising stellar content, as evidenced by this post. Sometimes, it might just be a picture. Sometimes, it might just be a sentence. And, there may be a short time when I am out of town, which means I’ll have to use my fancy scheduler thingy. Which, in fact, means you may see nothing at all.
Wish me luck. Also, next time we run into each other, please smack some sense into me. Thanks.

Well, it sounds better than my attempt to participate in NaNoWriMo. At least I’m doing it mostly offline so that no one can mock me if I fail.
Angie [A Whole Lot of Nothing]
You crazy.
That’s my way of saying, “Good luck!”

I think you’re confusing NaBloPoMo with the French term “Nablopomet”, which means “girl who calls her friends to needlessly in order to hem and haw over issues that don’t really matter anyway”.
Glad you’re in, because:
1. I look forward to being a crazed idiot WITH you
and
2. I have a feeling there will be a post about Wisps.
Varda (SquashedMom)
I am so on the fence about doing NaBloPoMo myself. Had been planning to and now think it’s just madness. Bravo to you and good luck!
Goddess in Progress
I’m right there with you. I signed up because I needed the kick in the pants. I got the first post up OK (Halloween, that was a gimme), but so far have no idea what tomorrow will bring.
We’ll just have to see, won’t we?
Jeanne
Good luck! I’ve done NaBloPoMo a few times before and am also participating this year. Trying to get myself back into the daily (not weekly) blogging groove.
BusyDad
Do they have a NaBloPoYe where I can blog once a year? Because hey, I pretty much rock that already.
Have we been blogging THAT long? I think we deserve a diploma or at least a gold watch.

Just be careful. You never know what will happen. I did two weeks of NaBloPoMo in November of 2007 and then, in December, when someone suggested Blog365 – everyday for one lap around the Sun – I jumped in. It started on January 1st, 2008. I have posted something EVERY day since. Not all stellar content, to be sure – but there’s something there every day.
Rhea
I’m doing it too. And I also started blogging in 2007 or wait, maybe it was 2008…hmmm…guess I could go check.
Anyway, I’m also trying to participate in NaNoWriMo. I figured out I’d need to write around 1,666 words per day.
So…either this is going to be a really awesome month…or I may lose my mind. There you have it.
Colleen
I’m in too.
And I totally agree…. clean clothes are way overrated.
2007 must have been a popular year to start blogging! I started then too. 🙂
Tara R.
Good luck! I’ll be around to hold your hand, and be crazy along with you.
SurprisedMom
I’m not being an idiot, but I will enjoy coming to visit this month. Heck, I always enjoy coming to visit. Good luck!
Amie
Oh good, because your participation in NaBloPoMo allows me to participate in NaReMoBloMo (National Read Momo’s Blog Month)! Now get cracking on Day 2…
Jessica
I did postaday2011 with wordpress for a couple of months and then finally threw in the towel. I would say it’s ok for a month, you’ll probably enjoy it. I had a lot of energy for it in the beginning but then it just became too stressful and it took away from the joy of writing and sharing. Good luck! Have fun!

That Halloween costume was great. No one gave you grief about mocking a dead person? I guess that comes from too many years being a small town columnist. You are terribly brave. I really go blank at what I would have dressed up as…that thought should terrify me.
meleah rebeccah
You’re clearly insane. But, good luck with Nablopomo!

Well…I was set to do a 30 day challenged and it felt very forced, but I have written every day of November so far (all 3)….so, maybe I will jump on the bandwagon.
Good luck to you and maybe me – we will see how today goes! Rachel

Well, on the other hand, if ever I *don’t* blog for a day, I get worried emails asking if I’m alright… (I’m fine!)
Mare
I’m doing the A-Z challenge in April…same thing, a post a day. I’m writing stuff ahead this year. And preparing for pancake butt. All the sitting. Will be checking in to see how November treats ya! Good luck!
