Throw In The Laundry And I’m Downright Charmed

posted by Momo Fali on March 29, 2008

I was reading my son a book, when I suddenly thought how cute he looked. I smothered him with a great, big hug, then I asked, “Do you know why I am the luckiest Mommy in the world?”

He replied, “Yeah! Because you get to vacuum!”

maybe he meant it in an ‘as opposed to having to go on your hands and knees to pick crap off the floor’ kind of way…

    I totally agree….

LOL!! Having a great vacuum is how I define myself. 🙂

I wonder how your little guys ego will be when he gets older ’cause he’s gonna be able to look back on these posts and claim brilliance pretty early on.

    Funny!

I love children. I also love to vacuum, so I don’t know what that says about me! LOL

  • Christine

Oh, I love those moments…when I get so overwhelmed by how adorable my kids are! I just want to HUG them..okay, and maybe pinch their butts.

I saw your post at Bossy’s…were you included in her SF email? If not, I’ll hook you up, just email me. Or message me at BD.

We’re meeting on April 11 somewhere in SF. I think it’s 7pm. Place to be determined.

I didn’t know you were in greater SF area! How fun!

    Christine,

Hmmmmm….nope. I’m not in SF, I’m in Ohio. I’ll be meeting Bossy latern in April.

He is seriously disturbed. I hope that doesn’t come as a shock to you. I am laughing so hard…

Ha Ha!! I often has those moments were I just need to grab my twins and bear hug them. I just can’t resist it.

  • Ashley

Totally. And, next week…I think you should let him have the lucky honor. Wait, how old is he? lol

  • Hockeyman

That was awesome! I love the innocent child brain and what they come up with.

ha! What a funny little man!

Vacuuming at our house is a privilege. “If you don’t help clean up then you can’t have a turn to vacuum” is a common threat. I’m not sure why that is and I don’t try to ask too many questions- I’m just grateful.

  • BuzzeeDad

See? I knew I was a good husband! As much as I want a turn, I always let my wife have the vacuum. I’m gonna go tell her what a lucky gal she is!

  • Dan

Heh, I guess I’m pretty lucky in our house too then.

  • Jamie Willow

just ran across your blog. cute post. Sounds like he’s jealous! let him take a try at it, you never know, he could be very good with the vacuum!

Even when they’re nearly 12 you still want to hug them. It’s like the ultimate moment of clarity sometimes hits you and you just can’t believe this wonderful creature belongs to you. No matter how old they are they’ll always be your little boy or girl!

  • Maureen

Oh, aren’t we so lucky…. we get to VACUUM!!!!

    Hah! That’s great.

Now go teach him how to vacuum.

  • LaskiGal

Clearly, when you vacuum you must be doing it with a huge smile on your face while singing “These are a few of my Favorite Things” from Sound of Music. I mean, that’s gotta be it.

  • Ed (zoesdad)

He’s got a point. My kids are giddy with excitement when I get out the vacuum.

  • GHD

I agree, put that kid to work, Momma!

  • Lisa

Well you could make him the luckiest son in the world 😉

  • meleah rebeccah

I think he might change his tune if you let him work the vaccuum a few times?

your son is HYSTERICAL (as always)

  • LiteralDan

Well I guess this confirms that ours isn’t the only house where the right to vacuum is rationed out in a manner befitting a gift from the gods of children’s playtime.

  • holly

in our house, it’s daddy who’s lucky.

although that’s the *only* way he is so….

  • soapbox mom

That’s great! What a charmer. I bet he had a huge grin on his face, too.
    Adorable.
